Can you guess where this photograph was taken? You might not immediately recognise the landscape but you have probably driven over this spot many times. Trees and man-made structures have totally transformed the area, however its basic geography remains the same


If you want historical clues this photograph was taken sometime between 1929 and 1931, when electrical cables were being laid between the newly constructed Bunnerong Power Station and a substation in Zetland. Though the reclaimed area across the lake looks like a road, it was actually built to lay electrical cables.
