EXHIBITION: Faces & Places: A visual history of Botany's street names

Do you know how old your street is? What about the history of its name? Streets can help us identify our location. Their names also reflect the history of where we live.

This exhibition looks at the ideas, people and places behind our City’s street names. Here in the Botany district we have drawn inspiration from a wide variety of sources including royalty, British seaside resorts and airplanes. Most street stories are straightforward but some, like the history of Wentworth Avenue, involve several curves, bends and detours.
